Wedding Weekend Round 2

We had an amazing time in Little Rock, AR at our friends, Stephen and Katy McMullan's wedding! It was a blast! The happy couple looked absolutely fabulous and their wedding was beautiful! Clint did an AMAZING job officiating his first wedding! No one could believe it was his first wedding nor believe that he was nervous! He looked great! It was also hilarious to hear everyone call him "The Pastor"! They were sure surprised at his dance moves at the reception! I cannot tell you how many older ladies exclaimed, "Look at the Pastor dancing! Hahah!!"

We really enjoyed the drive up and back with Jordan and Peyton Gibbons. They are truly hilarious and wonderful company. All of our friends stayed at the Peabody, so it was really fun to just run across the hall and talk throughout the weekend; CJ and Ashley, The Gibbon's, The Beech's, and The Davis'. What a blast! Peyton, Ash, and I got to go to breakfast on Sat morning then shopping until we had to go back to the hotel and get ready for the wedding. Then the whole crew went to the same cafe Sunday morning/afternoon for brunch. Very fun!

I have attached some photos from the night of the wedding. We forgot to take pictures at the rehearsal dinner...of course! But all in all...great times with GREAT friends. Wouldn't trade it for the world!

Tomorrow we will be traveling to Deville, LA to see Clint's family and go to a wedding. I am super excited to see the family!

Prayer Requests:

1. Continued prayers for my brother-in-law, Dustin, that his brain cancer will stay in remission.
2. Prayers for job situation.
3. Prayers for a potential house.

Love y'all!

Wedding Weekend

Hey everyone! It's the Registered Dietitian here! :) I just had to!

We had an awesome wrap up to the week last week. We went to Ruston on Friday evening to spend the night with Conner and Laura Beech (friends from college)! The 4 of us went to Raw, a sushi restaurant in Ruston, to eat! It was DELICIOUS! We just had the best time catching up and enjoying the short amount of time we get to spend with one another! We drove back to Shreveport that night because Ashley and CJ came to see us for St. Patrick's Day! We went to Superior for the evening and had some drinks and hung out. We had a blast! The 4 of us spent the day together Sunday playing games. Wonderful weekend.

I was able to return back to Bible Study on Monday since studying is over forever! WOOHOO. So glad to get back to those girls. We are doing "To Live Is Christ" by Beth Moore. I did the study in college, but it is still just as good going over it again.

On Monday our lesson was about having an initiation of dependency on Christ (Acts 9:8). This lesson was perfect for me to explain because I was just trapped in a situation where I had an enforcement of time upon me (Acts 9:17). I was forced to be completely dependent on Christ because I could not pass my RD exam. There was no one to save me from the situation, but Christ. Of course I had to study my butt off, but until it was time for me to pass...I did not pass. I had to completely give up everything, be 100% dependent on God and His will for me to pass or not to pass and either way I was going to be 100% alright. I truly believed that in my heart and was very dedicated to God's will. This process taught me a HUGE lesson and I will never forget it. How wonderful is the timing of our Lord. The enforcement of time can help us to become so much more dependent on Him and His will for our lives. :)

My lesson in my heart for this week was: When we persecute His children, we are persecuting Him. We are called to be ambassadors of grace. We should have grace pouring off of our lips.

Peyton and Jordan Gibbons will arrive at our house tomorrow at 1pm to leave to go to the McMullan-Phillips wedding in Little Rock, AR! Stephen McMullan is a great friend from college! Stephen met Katy at Med School and we just adore her! So excited! Clint will be officiating the wedding on Saturday! A group of us are staying at The Peabody in Little Rock, so we are going to have a great time! Will return with lots of pictures!

Praises:
1. I passed my RD exam!
2. Two of our wonderful friends are uniting in marriage this weekend!
3. Growing closer to our Lord Jesus Christ every day and learning lessons from trials and thorns.
4. Our niece Casey is turning 3 tomorrow! Happy Birthday Casey Ann!

Prayer Requests:
1. Brother-in-law, Dustin, continues to stay in remission for his brain cancer.
2. Prayers for my job/potential job opportunity.
3. Prayers that Clint will be calm and collected at the wedding ceremony and deliver his message smoothly.
4. Prayers for safety during travels.
5. Prayers for housing.

Love you all! Have an awesome weekend! Can't wait to post pictures next week!!

Attention All Prayer Warriors

ATTENTION ALL PRAYER WARRIORS!!!!
Tomorrow I am taking my Registered Dietitians Exam for the 3rd time and I REALLY need to pass! If you have not been following our blog, I need a 25 to pass this exam to become a Registered Dietitian. I took this test the first time on Sept 1, 2011 with a score of 24 and November 29, 2011 with a score of 24! 1 point from passing! Ahhh! But, we know God has a plan for us and His will and plan for our life is WAY more important than the plans we make! But, we are praying and asking God for a blessing, a miracle, that He will allow me to pass this test so that I can keep my job!

So, please join us in prayer. My test is scheduled for tomorrow, March 13th, 2012 at 9:30AM. I always get to start early. So: Please join in praying for me at 9:00AM March 13th! It would mean the world to us!

Thanks so much and we love y'all!

P.S. If y'all wanna start praying now until then...that would be great too! :)

There Will Always Be Critics

Fantastic study weather! Cold (for Louisiana), cloudy, and 80% chance of rain every day! With Clint out of town again, me and the girls are studying like crazy...except for their eyes are closed...but they have not left my side! Dedication! I, who is VERY easily distracted, am having a hard time finding an excuse not to study!

I took off work Friday to stay home and study. Clint left Friday morning for Alex to go see CJ and his family for the weekend. I feel like I have gotten some really good study hours in. T-3 days! Eek!

As time draws nearer and I continue to get more and more butterflies. I am reminding myself that God can deliver me through this if it is His will and if I believe that. Continually reminding myself that I CAN do this.

On a different note, I've always known about Invisible Children (IC) and have had many friends involved in the organization, however I was not 100% sure what they were doing at this time. I, along with 50million + people, were introduced into the KONY2012 video . I really enjoyed the video and I was overwhelmed with how amazing it was to see so many young people getting together to dedicate their time, money, and hearts to such an incredible organization/cause.

Since then, there have been SO many critics and accusations about how the company doesn't spend their finances in the way "others" would. I understand being concerned and I do think that it is smart to make sure you research where your tithes are being spent, however, you can check this out.

At the end of the day there is ALWAYS someone who is going to disagree with the way you do whatever it is you are doing. It is just unbelievable to me that the first thing everyone does when something really amazing happens, is they try to find something negative. Something ground breaking is happening and the one thing you want to focus on is: you think the company doesn't spend their money properly. Lets completely forget about thousands of young adults/children dedicating their lives to seeing children be rescued from persecution. The selflessness, dedication, courage, will, and the pureness of all of these people brings me so much joy. When do you ever see something like that splashed all over the news? All these acts that mimic Christ. We never see that. Why can we not rejoice that these people are showing us an example of how to live like Christ?

I shouldn't set my expectations of others so highly. But, I have a lot of hope in our World to be better and it is very discouraging when everyone continues to just be, as Clint says, "Negative Nancy's"!

Rejoices:
1. My friend Victoria passed her RD exam! So happy for her!
2. Clint and I are well! Woohoo!
3. Laura and Connor Beech bought a house! So excited for them!

Prayer Requests:
1. Brother-In-Law, Dustin, brain tumor stays in remission.
2. I pass my RD exam! March 13th!
3. Continue to have guidance on housing situation.

Hope everyone has an awesome weekend. Please let us know if we can pray for you about anything! Love y'all.

Lift Up The Light of Your Countenance

"...lift up the light of your countenance". I have had this phrase in my head all day from the new Shane and Shane CD (The One You Need)! Although...I had no idea what countenance meant...it kept repeating in my head.

Ahhh...it's Friday and we are at home at 6:30PM and Clint has just put some chicken on the charcoal grill. Smells so amazing. I asked Clint, "What does countenance mean?" He said...I don't know. I googled countenance and it means, "A person's face or facial expression". Wow. No wonder this 'mystery' phrase kept resonating in my head. How amazing. Lift up the light of your face, your beautiful holy face. What an overwhelming phrase.

This phrase repeating itself in my head through this hell of a day at work. With backstabbing and talking behind everyone's back going on in my work place, it is hard to remember why we are there and what we are all working together to achieve? A common goal of catering to our patients? Very discouraging and depressing. I kept trying to repeat the lessons Clint and I are studying this week in my head in our daily devotional. Passages reminding us that all we need is Jesus; all we need is His approval and love. All we need is the clothes on our back and not to worry about tomorrow. The road is going to be tough, but if we can just love each other through our hard times, that He will bless us and draw us near to Him. I can surely say being covered in the Word this week has helped my heart to not be so weary about the drama that happens all around us.

Weekend plan: study study study. Even though Clint is always my distraction...because he always comes up with something fun to do and I cannot miss out on ANYTHING...I am going to focus and keep my eye on the prize of VICTORY!! haha.

Prayer Requests:
1. Dustin, Brother-In-Law, brain cancer stay in remission.
2. Jacie RD Exam March 13th. Pass. Pass. Pass. Pass.
3. House options for Clint and me.
4. Dustin and Chantel, guidance for where they want/need to go. Where God is leading them.
5. Continued growth through the Word of God.

Praises:
1. God is telling us to wait until we have paid off some debts to finalize on a house! Yay!
2. Unexpected however unbelievably fulfilling alone time with Clint this week! So fun.
3. Amazing weather for Bossier City. Enjoyed every second of it!

Thanks for those of you who pray for us. We are praying for those of you who email us! Please feel free to email us any prayer requests!

Geaux Tigers! :) Love y'all.
