Night out on the town.

Well hello everyone this is Clint's first blog post...

So I got to lay around and play playstation most of the day, while Jacie studied. We have not gotten to see much of each other since I have been working 50+ hour weeks so we decided after her mom left to have a night out all to ourselves.

So what did we do at 5 pm, we went to the gym to work out so we could eat something crappy for the night :) Now its almost 7 and Jacie, as usual is asking me "What do you want to do?" and "What do you want to eat?" So of course I am like, "What do you want to do?" and "What do you want to eat?" Did i mention we have not taken showers and the whole going out anywhere just went right down the toilet? The amazing thing about being gloriously happy in your marriage is that being together is the real exciting, relaxing, and re-energizing part of my weekend. Going out is great and getting dressed up and all is fun, but its so amazing that I can be dirty, stinky, dressed like a bum and be so content with my life and my wife. My wish is that people realize its not about how much money you have or what type of exciting things you can brag about doing, but its about the little intricate details of your life that can sometimes take your breath away.... ( and i don't mean the smell :)

Things got a little crafty...

Hey there! Jacie here! Mom came into town on Wednesday of this week and we were looking online showing each other cute things we had found on different websites since we had last seen one another. We came across a cute wreath and we started thinking..."we probably need to make a wreath...!" So, we ventured out to none other than: Hobbity Lobbity, as we call it, to find some inspiration. We ended up running into a friendly girl who had a GREAT picture of a fun ribbon/fabric wreath! She let us have her extra copy, how nice! So, we decided our wreath needed a theme...didn't take long to come up with LSU TIGERS!!!

So, we started rummaging through discount fabrics and ribbons. We picked out quite a few, went home, and got started!

We cut some fabric late Wednesday night...but the real work began on Thursday morning. But First...every good project starts with:

Ahhhh. Much better! Mom was the "cutter" for a while and I was the "tie-er". We cut the fabric and ribbon into 15" pieces and tied them around the wreath frame.

This small project of ours, of course, took longer than we thought and OF COURSE we bought WAY more fabric and ribbon than we needed. So...we made two! I knew Mom couldn't go home without having a matching LSU wreath!! Look how cute:

After project one was completed...I had bought some extra supplies while we were at Michael's and re-covered 3 picture frames that I have had for years. This is how it started out and finished:

I was quite pleased with our LSU projects! You cannot have too many LSU projects! :)

And...we even had time to cook Enchiladas, Cornbread, and a Blueberry Coffee Cake for in the Morning. Whew. What a day!

Great visit with Mom! I guess it is time to clean all the fabric threads off the floor now...but I can stare at my wreath while doing it!!!!

Love,
Jacie

Long story short...that sums up the big points!! Jacie is still currently searching for a job as a Dietitian. This has been a long process, but we are trusting in the Lord that He is creating the best situation for her. She is studying for her Registered Dietitians Examination which she is going to take shortly (next 3 weeks or so). Clint is still working for MCH. He is enjoying his job, but works LONG hours.

Layla has a staph infection (NOT contagious to other friends- human or other). Hopefully this round of antibiotics and bath treatments will clear it right up.

We are getting VERY excited for our 2nd Beach Reunion Trip (last one was 2008) with the Alvaros, Iverstines, Stephen McMullan (future Katy McMullan will be missed), CJ Rachel (Ashley Price will be missed)! Event date: September 2nd-5th!

Also- 1st LSU GAME!!!!- officially 12 days 6 hours and 35 minutes until kick off!!!! WOOOHOO! Geaux Tigers (Sept 3rd)!

Our Prayers:
1. Jacie finds a job, preferably close to home.
2. Clint has strength and patience to deal with his families through therapy.
3. Clint's Pawpaw be free of suffering and pain.
4. Our niece Sarah Kate is having eye surgery September 15th. Smooth process and recovery.
5. Layla's staph infection to clear up without any problems.
6. Brother-In-Law, Dustin, to continue having a clear report on his Brain Tumor.
7. Finding a safe place for our girls to spend labor day weekend.

Love,
Clint, Jacie, Addie, and Layla
